The Great Cities Institute (GCI) at the University of Illinois Chicago is honored to host Dr. Arturo A. Massol Deyá, Associate Director of Casa Pueblo in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, for a timely and inspiring talk and discussion on community-driven energy transformation.

Dr. Massol Deyá will share insights from Casa Pueblo’s groundbreaking activation of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean’s first interconnected network of solar microgrids, a historic achievement demonstrating how communities can build resilient, democratic energy systems independent of centralized fossil-fuel infrastructure. The event will include a facilitated discussion, creating space for shared insights, dialogue, and reflection on advancing community-led renewable energy solutions.
