GCI Director Teresa Córdova served as guest host for the sixth and final episode of The Sawyer Seminar: Radical Care, Real Alternatives, a podcast series featuring conversations with UIC scholars and sponsored by AirGo and UIC’s Social Justice Initiative. In the episode, “Land, Labor, and Climate Justice,” Córdova is joined by José Bravo, Executive Director of the Just Transition Alliance, and José Acosta-Córdova, Environmental Planning and Research Organizer at LVEJO, for a conversation on the evolution of the Environmental Justice movement over the past three decades. Together, they examine the limitations and false promises of proposed climate solutions while highlighting the enduring power of multigenerational organizing and community-led approaches to environmental justice.
