About
Hayden Tillinger is a Master of Urban Planning and Policy (MUPP) student at the University of Illinois Chicago. His work focuses on transportation planning for pedestrians and bicycles. He is particularly interested in streetscape design and understanding how urban form can influence transportation decisions and the identity of urban spaces.
At Great Cities Institute, Hayden works under Dr. Matthew Wilson researching economic development in Chicago. He also works under Dr. David López-García and Dr. Matthew Wilson at the Urban Structure Lab, a joint venture between Great Cities Institute and the Center for Urban Economic Development. There, he is developing research on urban employment subcenters in the U.S. and Mexico, designing an interactive website database, and coordinating network seminars with international collaborators.
Hayden received his B.S. Public Management and Policy with a minor in Hydrology and Water Resource Management from the University of Arizona in May of 2023.
