In 2010 and 2011, a team of faculty and graduate students, under the auspices of the Chicago Area Study, embarked upon a large-scale data collection effort in 6 communities in Lake County, Illinois. These efforts resulted in a rich source of survey, ethnographic, and in-depth interview data that can shed light on interpersonal and institutional dynamics of the immigrant experience in the suburbs. This program features short research presentations by faculty and graduate students who are analyzing this data, as well as information on the wealth of CAS data that may be used by other scholars interested in exploring these topics.
