UIC Global Health & Well-Being Research Seed Grant Program RFA

April 15, 2015

In cooperation with Great Cities Institute, the UIC Global Excellence Task Force and the UIC College of Medicine’s Center for Global Health has established an annual seed grant program designed to foster new trans-disciplinary and mixed and multiple methods research in global health and well-being at UIC.

Why the New Law Combating Wage Theft in Chicago’s Cook County is a Big Deal

February 23, 2015

An article on wage theft in In These Times magazine cites a 2008 study by the Center for Urban Economic Development, then directed by Nik Theodore, that found that nearly 60 percent of the workers surveyed had experienced some sort of wage violation.
